Kyle Ang '22 is a Media Arts + Practice undergraduate at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Before transferring to USC in 2019, he initially pursued a major in Digital Media at the University of Rochester where he was recognized for scholarly and leadership achievement with the Susan O'Brien Book Award. Following his first year at UR, Kyle studied in Denmark and completed various works in graphic design, rebranding, and photography.
He won the Ken Kawakami Writing Scholarship (2017) for his original pieces, was selected as an Earthwatch fellow (2016) to conduct scientific research in Maine, and has extensive experience with elementary education.
Kyle enjoys playing his musical instruments like a madman behind closed doors, and psychoanalyzing his friends for fun. He recently wrote and directed, "First Impressions"—a short film focusing on breaking stereotypes of the Asian community, and is now the program advisor of the USC Asian Cinema production group in Los Angeles, California.
